Blurred Lines Introduction

Blurred Lines Development

As I am hoping to study Fashion Marketing at university I didn’t want my whole portfolio to be dedicated to design and mixed media work. So, I decided to highlight my own Marketing / Promotion based project. With my personal project, I want to include fashion promotion / advertising / visual merchandising / photography all in one.

To start with I had to come up with my own theme which was going to be based on a new store ‘coming soon.’ I want to choose a theme with bright colours and throb lighting creating blurs. So, I based my theme around raves and nightclubs to addition to this my customer profile would be quite wild, attend raves and takes drugs. From this my theme was finally titled ‘Blurred Lines.’ As well as gathering together a lot of research I have created;

-          Blurred Lines Mood / Promotion Board

-          Customer Profile Board

-          My own photoshoot

-          Photography Board

-          Blurred Lines Shop Window (Visual Merchandising)
-       Poster for Shop Window
My customer profile for my new brand 'Blurred Lines.'

This is my customer profile board for my new store campaign.
This board highlights the key elements of my customer profile who would shop in my new store ‘Blurred Lines.’ This is a womenswear shop so I would be directing my advertisement to girls. Each picture on this board tells a story;
1.       This picture is of a hotel / hostel – people who shop at my store would most likely go to hotels like this after partying.
2.       This is a rave – my customer attends to raves / nightclubs quite frequently
3.       This is a picture of an uncovered girl smoking – my customer will be very confident and out spoken and most likely smokes.
4.       This is a picture of a cartoon picture of someone taking drugs – my customer is someone who takes drugs / illegal substances while partying.
5.       This is a picture of what my customer would probably look like when attending raves. As this is a very mainstream look.
