In our portfolio, we
had to include a magazine editorial based on an inspired designer of our
choice. I choose to study the designer / brand Palmer / Harding. They are
designer who have their own collection with St Martins. I chose to base my
editorial on them because Palmer and Harding’s work
has a huge impact on my freedom of slavery theme, their collection are very
much within my colour palette as they use very dull nudes and burnt orange
colours. Their garments are very baggy and loose almost like wrapped clothing. I
created two different editorials my first attempt and the second was my final
and very improved one.
My final editorial, I am very pleased with the outcome. I think the
choose of images in the background make the editorial look quite strong as they
really go with my text and title. Having my editorial over two pages makes it
look so much better. The imagery in this editorial is a lot clearer and looks a
lot more colourful. I only included one quote so it doesn’t look crowded.
